Full-Thickness Resection Device for Flexible Endoscopy

The FTRD® system is a fast, transluminal, minimally invasive technique for diagnostic and therapeutic full-thickness resection via the flexible endoscope in the duodenum, colon and rectum.

The technology is based on the well-established OTSC® system, enabling the surgeon to resect all the layers of suitable lesions including the serosa. The design of the FTRD® system ensures that the transection of the tissue happens only after the defect has been closed completely. At no time will the abdominal cavity and bowel lumen be in contact.

FTRD® Colonic

FTRD® Colonic is a novel tool for the diagnostic and therapeutic full-thickness resection of lesions in the colon and rectum, via an over-the-scope clip method. FTRD® Colonic has the ability to resect lesions up to 4 cm in diameter via flexible endoscopy.

Proven Effectiveness

Full-thickness resection of colonic lesions with FTRD® is feasible, safe and effective with 88.3% technical success and no significant complications, making FTRD® a reasonable alternative to surgery.¹²³

FTRD® Gastroduodenal

Drawing from the success of the established FTRD® Colonic system, FTRD® is now available to treat lesions in the upper GI tract.

For an easier and safer insertion of the system into the upper GI tract (passage of esophagus and pylorus) the FTRD® Gastroduodenal set is delivered with an insertion balloon and guide wire.

The FTRD® Gastroduodenal can be used for the following indications:

• Not pretreated non-lifting adenoma
• Non-lifting recurrent adenoma
• Small subepithelial tumours
• Early carcinoma

FTRD® Diagnostic

Diagnostic FTRD® is a smaller FTRD® System that can be used for full-thickness biopsy in the colon and rectum for diagnostic purposes. Diagnostic FTRD® allows for the histology in functional diseases of the colon wall, e.g. for neuro-gastroenterological examination. Diagnostic FTRD® can also be used with paediatric endoscopes.

The FTRD® Gastroduodenal can be used for the following indications:

• Hypo and aganglionosis, e.g. Hirschsprung’s disease
• Enteric ganglionitis
• Visceral neuro and myopathy, e.g. in chronic constipation
• Gastrointestinal amyloidosis
• Enteric manifestation of neurological diseases, e.g. Parkinson’s disease
