INSORB - Resorbable Subcuticular Dermal Stapler

The INSORB Absorbable Skin Stapler represents a revolutionary new skin closure modality designed to combine the cosmetic result of absorbable suture with the rapid closure times associated with metal skin staplers, while eliminating the need for metal staple removal post-operatively. The INSORB Absorbable Staple is comprised of a co-polymer of polylactic acid and polyglycolic acid, which is absorbed over a period of a few months.

INSORB vs sutures and metal staples

  • It is fast to use, drastically reducing wound closure times, operative and anesthesia times versus sutures.
  • It has been designed to be simple and easy to use.
  • It creates a secure, everted, interrupted closure versus sutures.
  • It has been shown to reduce surgical site infections versus sutures.
  • It has been shown to have lower levels of inflammation at the wound site versus staplers and sutures.
  • It completely eliminates needlesticks and the need for metal staple removal.
  • It has greater cosmesis versus metal staples by eliminating skin punctures and reducing erythmema and inflammation.
  • The INSORB provides increased patient comfort and satisfaction.
